LBC, Palawan tie up to expand remittance reach
7/3/2012

LBC Express, Inc. recently signed a remittance partnership agreement with Eight Under Par, Inc. popularly known as Palawan Pawnshop.

Janet Ong, Executive Vice President for LBC Global Remittance, said that the partnership will enable customers by August to send and receive money via branch remittance pick-up from LBC to Palawan Pawnshop, and vice versa.

“LBC’s Instant Peso Padala (IPP) remittance branch pick-up service will be available to over 700 Palawan Pawnshop branches and Palawan Pawnshop’s Express Pera Padala will be made available to the over 1,000 LBC branches nationwide,” Ong explained.

Ong added that Palawan Pawnshop’s strong presence in the Vis-Min region shall complement LBC’s presence in Luzon and NCR. “The name of the game now is to partner, connect and connect. Gone are the days where you have to establish your own branch to cover the entire archipelago,” she said. “Though we are both competitors and partners at the same time, we will certainly do our best to achieve our common goals” said Bobby Castro, President of Palawan Pawnshop.
Earlier this year, LBC signed remittance partnerships with several local and international money remittance institutions including Land Bank of the Philippines; Money Exchange in Spain; and Al Ghurair in UAE. LBC has also bolstered its ties with Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC).
